Free dial up internet connections for sri lanka? ? ?

Telstra ltd in australia is looking to invest long term investments
in ISP sector again in sub continent. Once they invested as joint
ventures in india, sri lanka, bangladesh and vietnam. But only vietnam
company is remaining today. There are some leagle problems in india
for them and if they clear from the courts they will invest india and
surrounding countries. Telstra is going to add new consept to this
part of the world by giving free dial up internet connections. We
don't have any idea about how they are going to make it profitable .
If some one have knollage about this free dial up please email or
leave a comment. (This report is not conferm and this is based on

A nice dream.... But it will never happen in Sri Lanka. SLT,Lanka Bell,Suntel,Dialog,Mobitel,Hutch...all of them are money hunters. Then how can we get a free diul up connection from foriegn telecommunication company.

Very few people in Sri Lanka do actually pay for dial up.

When I was there virtually the whole teenage population in Colombo used SLT "hora passwords" and the Moratuwa uni Learnmail (password: popsmtp, phone number 074 something those days) (illegally) totally free of charge.

Lakmal is wrong. Legal free dialup will certainly be a reality in Sri Lanka very soon.
