As the latest central bank statics says at the end of june this year
sri lanka has over 4.3 million mobile phone users. Average growth for
this sector is over 50%. Sri lanka have four mobile phone operators.
Dialog (62%),celltel(16%),mobitel(13%), hutch(9%). Now dialog starts
commercial 3g services and mobitel is testing 3g services. But there
is no 3g inter network connection method implemented. Further dialog
is going to start CDMA fixed telephone line service all around the
country in near future.
