COMET CABLE in trouble dispute expanding transmission through out sri Lanka

There is a public notice published in daily news by southern development authority (SDA) which says SDA the owner of the license of comet cable TV. Seems to be some one is trying to buy comet cable (not clear who is going to buy). Surly this will affect expansion program of comet cable. Full notice as follows…

The southern development authority (“SDA”) of Sri Lanka is the owner of the licenses used by Multivision (pvt) Ltd, to provide the pay TV service known as “Comet cable” in Sri Lanka

Currently the SDA is also the 50% share holder of Multivision.

SDA has not received the royalty fees due from the foreign investors in Multivision for using the license since the in corporation in 1997 for the development of the southern region as was promised in the joint venture agreement which assigned the license to Multivision.

According the SDA has demanded payment and Multivision has continuously failed to make any payments. Under these circumstances the SDA has demanded that the asset of Multivision should not be sold, transferee, mortgaged or alienated by its directors or management until the after said royalty fees are recovered by SDA.

Therefore any sale, transfer, mortgage or alienation of any asset belonging to Multivision will be illegal and invalid.

Notice is hereby given to the general public of sri Lanka that the SDA will take necessary steps against would engage in any transaction where the asset of Multivision are sold, transferred, mortgaged or alienated.
