“SIRASA” Create good one out of thousand bad

“Sirasa TV” in sri Lanka believed to be showing cheap, bad, bias entertainment programmers only targeting profits. They don’t think about Sri Lankan culture or our younger once future. And some people call it “Sinhala koti hada” because some people believe sirasa shows lot of sympathy to the Tamil tiger terrorists.

But Sirasa TV produced program called “Sirasa premier league cricket” recently with joining hands with “Sri Lanka Cricket”. That program is very popular and “sirasa” is giving good publicity to the premier league cricketers and the game of cricket. This is good for the future of cricket in
Sri Lanka. As we think this is good move by Sirasa TV and fm. As a national media they must think about their social responsibility.

Sri Lanka telecom conferms to fix the problem soon

The reason for the dropping of the speed was the earthquake nearby Indonesian sea area. That costs by damaging the cables laid beneath the ocean.Because of this disastrous situation many internet providers have lost their speed and even some countries have lost their internet service completely.

However slt was not such affected because they have several backbones. And also they have satellite connection to provide internet services to Sri Lanka. But some ISPs in Sri Lanka was completely down. This slowing problem is only for ADSL connections and other broadband services , not for dial up connections. And the problem is occurred only for some parts of the country. For example southern province is not affected by the problem.

What ever it is slt confirms they are going to rearrange their network connections before Jan 15th 2007.

Dialog sees the beginnings of a mass data market in Sri Lanka

Celltick(World leader in active content discovery and interactive broadcaster) has announced a deal with Sri Lanka ’s Dialog GSM to deliver its active content discovery service to all 3m Dialog subscribers. Previously zero77 LIVE (designed to boost the operator’s 077 brand recognition – 077 is Dialog’s mobile dialling prefix) was only available to top-end users.
Making zero77 available to all subscribers is not about democracy, it’s about money: according to Celltick and Dialog, the service upped content usage by 20% among its original 120,000 consumers.
This is how it works: zero77 LIVE delivers personalised content teasers to the idle-screen of subscribers' mobile phones, guiding users to relevant mobile content and driving operator revenues. Content bites appear silently across the idle-screen and are timed to coincide with consumers' ‘mobile moments’ - such as when commuting or during a lunch break. The free teasers include: news headlines, sport reports, weather updates, lifestyle tips, music stories and gossip etc. zero77 LIVE also provides users with the opportunity to participate in competitions and win prizes.
No doubt greater availability will expand the use of mobile content, but not everyone is as adventurous, or more to the point, well-off, as the original audience. Low, single digit growth is more likely for the rest.

standeds. Then they can't do this kind of unjusttis to the viewers.
Hello...... We are not talking about rich cable tv customers. We are
talking about poor people who loves english entertainment. Rich or

Hutchison Telecom Sri Lanka achieved the 500,000 mark in its subscriber base since it launched its full mobility GSM operations in 2004. Within this 2 year period, the company has offered its growing subscriber base a choice of packages to suit different needs and lifestyles.

Today Hutch covers the western province & all major towns except for the Northern region, providing mobile telecommunication services at an affordable price. As a token of appreciation, the management hosted all of its employees to lunch as part of the celebrations on the 31st of October 2006.

Mr. Thiru Nadarasa CEO of Hutch Sri Lanka attended a simple gathering together with all staff to mark the event. Speaking at this occasion he said “I want to congratulate all of you on your contributions to this great achievement which would have seemed impossible only a few years ago! I hope I would be able to count on all of you for your dedication, commitment and unparallel support for the coming years as we continue to grow rapidly”.
With cellular mobile penetration levels still at around 20%, Hutch will continue to strive in its mission to deliver a ‘mobile connection to every Sri Lankan’.

These days lot of emails like this forwarding to everyware. So this type of emails show the fustration about sirasa tv.

Will "DIALOG" buy "COMET CABLE"- monopoly in cable tv industry? ? ?

We received unconfirm news from dialog telecom that they are
discussing to buy comet cable pay tv channel. Comet cable is the
pioneer cable tv channel in sri lanka. They got great channel line up
and its only telecast for a limited areas in western province.

If dialog buys comet cable then their will be a monopoly in the
cable tv market in sri lanka. As we think thats not good and we belive
sri lanka telecom should start their transmition soon. As viewers
point of view competition is good than a monopoly. We'll update
conferm reports soon.

Special thanks for lanka in dialog and person who post a comment
and draw our attention to this.

Check out...... Now celltel offer free gprs with their cellcard pre
paid sim. Celltel recently finished the biggest expansion programme.
They added 500 towers in just eight months. Now they offer free gprs
but they are not doing any commercials. Because of that we belive this
is a just a test and this connection works lot slower than mobitel or
dialog.

Dialog internet introduce kitnet

Now you can use kit cards to connect internet. And if you are a
dialog customer you can get dialog internet connection just making a
phone call without filling any documents or without a bill proof.

True reason about CBNSat ban?

Most of blog posts and web articals about media showing lot of
sympathy to CBNSat and their management and government also not
telling much about this incident. Because of that we decide to write
the truth about this.

CBNSat present owners are mr. Muhunthan and Niranjan Kanagasoorium.
As BOI they invest over rs 400 million for the CBNSat and CBN. Our
news source says above owners rich but not the wealthyest people and
constantly monitored by army intelligence for paying ransom for the
Ltte. Army intelligence confidant that Ltte invest some money for this
company and they are planning to telecast tamil eelam national
television from kilinochchi and tamil television networks from europe.

So government doesn't have evidence to prove this is a national
security threat but have to do something?

IS Government right or wrong?
